Champions League Final

2 weeks ago Atletico Madrid and Barcelona FC fought for the title of La Liga. La Liga, are the games played for the season. The real winner is the one who wins in nationals, or for La Liga, the Champions league. First is the season, then come the torneo. Last week the battle for Cope Del Rey, Cup Of The King, was played between Atletico and Real Madrid.

With both teams suffering from injuries, suspended players and staff, and empty fuel tanks it was a tough game. 

With the first goal coming in from Atletico Mardrid. Diego Godin gets a header off another header in the 36th minute. Keeper Casilles could not get to the ball in time giving Atletico the front for the rest of the game. 

With 5 minutes overtime Real Madrid seemed to have lost their chance at their 10th European Cup. However 2 minutes before the whistle would have been blown, Real Madrid has one last chance. By a perfect cross, Sergio Ramos gets a header into the bottom left corner. Just when they thought the game was over. 

Now playing for 110 minutes came the game winning goal by Bale. With another header this time into the top left corner, Real Madrid is ahead 2-1.

Exahausetd, Atletico keeps of fighting but in the 118th minute, Marcelo from Madrid scores their third goal sealing the game.

After 120 minutes of sprinting, kicking, jumping, battling, an awful thing happens for Atletico. Ronaldo is fouled in the box. He puts the ball in the back of the goal.

These two hours have finally ended. 4-1, Since 2002, Real Madrid has finally won their title.

Week 38

Normally in leagues the winners are decided on the last day of the season, but for the spanish league, the winner was decided in a true championship game between the two possible teams. On Saturday, May 17 Atletico Madrid and Barcelona went head-to-head for La Liga. 14 minutes into the game, Atletico striker Diego Costa, was forced off injured leaving the player on the bench, in tears.  Less than 10 minutes later went another key player for team Altetico, Arda Turan. Injured hip, Arda broke down into tears as well. Both players unsure whether they'd be ready to play in the championship league next week. In the 33rd minute, Alexis Sanchez gave Barcelona their first goal. With an incredible shot, the ball hit the inside of the top post and soars into the back of the net. With the pace and power of this shot, Atletico keeper didn't even have a chance to react. With the score 1-0 at half, Atletico came in fighting. Getting a shot and hitting the post, and many corner kicks Atletico finally got their goal. With a corner by Gabi, he placed it the perfect position for central D, Diego Godin, to power head the ball past Barcelona keep and tie the game 1-1.  With many shots at goal, Barcelona keep fighting for the title. In the 64th minute, star Barce player Messi had put Barcelona back in front. With a loose ball coming straight to him, a powerful short-ranged volley went into the goal. The Lionel Messi was called off-sides, and the goal did not count. With Barcelona needing the win and Atletico only needing a tie, Atletico Madrid won the title.  Although Barcelona and Real Madrid didn't take first, they also still qualify for the Champions League.

Week 37

For Real Madrid, they are officially out. With an awful lost to Celta de Vigo, Madrid says goodbye to La Liga. Defender Sergio Ramos lost the ball in front of the goal to Diego Lopez who quickly scored leaving the score 1-0. Real had many good shots but Celta keeper Alvaraz made many great saves. At the 64 minutes, just like Ramos, defender Xabi Alonso tried passing to his keeper but passed it right to Celta forward Charles. Leaving it one on one, Celta got another goal in. The final score being 2-0, Real Madrid gave up their chance for winning La Liga. Although Barcelona and Atletico both lost points, Real Madrid did everything they could to return the favor.  They didn't care to even try to win. Whether it be due to injuries or even lack of mental energy,  A LOT more was expected from Real Madrid.

Games of Week 36

On Sunday night, something that hasn't happened in more than a year happened. Three top teams have all lost the league. With FC Barcelona tying Getafe on Saturday night the should have lost the league. However, on Sunday, Atletico Madrid lost to Levante 2-0, and Real Madrid C.F. tied 2-2 to Valencia. Because all teams failed to win, the title is still up for grabs.  If Atletico had won against Levante, the only thing they would've needed was to win against Malaga but with an own goal and a finish by David Narrel they suffered a difficult loss. Valencia kept Real Madrid on their heels the entire game. Valencia had a goal in the 44th minute and Sergio Ramos with a goal in 59th, but Valencia came back with a goal six minutes later. For Madrid to take the league, they need to win their next three games and for Atletico to lose one game. Barcelona tied 2-2 against Gatefe, for them to win, they need to win their next two matches and for Madrid to at least tie one. Atletico is currently holding La Liga in their palms but they must win their game against Malaga on Sunday to take it. Atletico is the only teams whose fate lies in their own hands. If Atletico wins they will be the first team to take La Liga other than Madrid or Barcelona since 2004. However, if there is and unlikely tie between the three, Barcelona will come out on top.
